Chakra (Energetic Body) Balancing Self-Test

Chakra energies within the body are constantly changing, as our activities alter, our concentration changes, and so forth. As we change, different chakras become more or less dominant. If we can identify the chakras that need balancing, we can help ourselves a great deal in our journey towards our full potential and well-being.

Chakra dominance is not in itself a problem. However, where a major imbalance occurs, one or more chakras begin to take over the roles more properly belonging to others. This overburdens the dominant chakras and atrophies the others. Often it is an accumulation of stresses and trauma in a chakra that reduces its effectiveness. If this is not remedied the system will naturally compensate by diverting energy to areas that are still working. This is a state of false equilibrium that most people cope with in their lives.

In the following questionnaire there are seven options open to you for each question posed. Jot down the number of each reply on a sheet of paper. Pick more than one choice if it seems appropriate. There are 20 questions, so you'll want to write your answers down.

Now see how many times you recorded each number. Each refers to the chakra: 1 the root chakra, 2 the sacral chakra, 3 the navel chakra, 4 the heart chakra, 5 the throat chakra, 6 the third-eye chakra, 7 the crown chakra. If you look at your score, you will be able to see which chakras are dominant for you.

For example, if you have two answers of number 1, two of 2, six of 3, two of 4, three of 5, one of 6 and three of 7, you will see that the third chakra, the navel, is dominant. This is where most of your energy is focused. Although dominant, the navel chakra needs the most attention and healing. Chakras 1, 2, and 6 have little focus of attention, so they too, may need healing and energizing. If there are any chakras that were not chosen at all, they too need attention. As you record and become aware of which chakras, or energy centers within your body are dominant, and which are weakened; remember to let go of all self-judgment. Your results are not good or bad, right or wrong, they just simply are, and they are ever-changing. For assistance with practices and techniques to bring your personal energies in balance, private chakra healing sessions are available by appointment. It is your discretion to complete this questionnaire with Angie, or just bring results of dominant and weakened chakras based from this self test.

Private chakra healing sessions may include guided meditation, gentle movement, healing with crystals, aromatherapy, breath work, chanting and sound therapy, and other psychological practices such as journaling, etc. Your session will be completed with a personal "prescription" of practices to continue at home to invite greater harmony between body, mind and spirit. Each balancing session is approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on each personal need and may be done in person, or via video correspondence. Rate is the same as a private 60 minute Yoga session. Email or call Angie for more details.
